Preschool is where young minds continue to learn through play. Our children’s worlds are starting to get a little bit bigger, so the Preschool is a collection of larger, more stimulating activity centers including:

• Art Center
• Writing & Language Center
• Science/Math and Sensory Center
• Library and Listening Center
• Block and Manipulative Center
• Dramatic Play Center
• Outdoor Gardening Center

Twice monthly, our teachers plan activities they present at each of these centers. Additionally, the teachers brainstorm with their class to see what the children are interested in discovering. Our friends have learned about weather, rain, and rainbows, growing vegetables and making ratatouille, and making their very own beanstalk after reading Jack and the Beanstalk. This method of lesson planning allows the teachers to follow the children’s lead and interests. Also, all children at HSH learn beginning Spanish, starting with colors, numbers, letters, and foods.

We provide healthy organic snacks twice daily for our Preschoolers. Additionally, parents can either send lunch from home or opt to purchase lunch from our lunch provider at an additional cost.

Every week, we offer a Wednesday movement class that focuses on stretching, jumping, hopping, and everything else that gets the wiggles out. We also have yoga every other Thursday.

The outdoor yards are at the Preschool are equipped with a large commercial play structure, two sand boxes, an outdoor garden, bicycle track, two play yards, lunch area, outdoor painting station, water play tables, and a basketball court surrounded by lots of greenery. Don’t be surprised to see an afternoon dance party, either!
